Casa Laplace, 2021

Polanco, Mexico City

-ongoing-

This residential project is located in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Mexico City, called Anzures in Polanco.

The house was abandoned for a decade and was the former home for an elderly couple. In the lower level the kitchen was opened and the separation walls between the smaller dining room and the kitchen demolished. The now bigger kitchen and living room got connected to the garden with windows and doors that are open to the floor and allow light to enter the house.

In addition to the existing bedrooms on the upper level a third bedroom was added as well as a second bathroom.

All bedrooms have a window system that is recessed and creates a small loggia to allow more light to access the rooms.
